Dr. Kendra Dickinson and colleague Dr. Mark Hoff (Queens College CUNY) were invited to give a workshop at the 28th Annual Ohio State University Congress on Hispanic and Lusophone Linguistics (OSUCHiLL) on March 21st, 2025. Their presentation, Corpus linguistic methods in Sketch Engine: A hands-on workshop, was well attended by faculty and graduate students alike, and provided attendees with the opportunity to explore the utility of mega corpora like Sketch Engine for language teaching and research, as well as the practical tools needed to do so. The event was sponsored and co-sponsored by OSUCHiLL and the Center for Latin American Studies at Ohio State.
In addition to their presentation, Kendra and Mark had the chance to spend time with their former advisor, Dr. Scott Schwenter. Kendra and Mark are excited to bring this workshop to additional venues, so look out for announcements at a conference near you!
